Your signature images and avatars cannot exceed the following:

Avatars:
-Dimensions: 100x100 pixels (maximum size)
-Size: 40K (maximum size)

Signature Images:
-Dimensions: 500x150 pixels (maximum)
-Size: 100K (maximum size)

-Signatures with an image can have up to three lines of normal (size 10pt or less) text, spacing between text lines included. The sum total of all the images in your signature mustn't exceed 100kB.

-Signatures without Picture: Up to five lines of normal (size 10pt or less) text, spacing between text lines included.


If your avatar or signature image exceeds these restrictions you will get a warning. Do it enough times, and you'll just get it removed.
